Lakeway PTO News - Week 2

Reminders:

 Passbooks are on sale through Sep 5. Please make sure to send your children to school with their completed order forms on the morning of Friday, Sep 5. Passbooks generated over $10,000 in profits last year for the school. This is an important fundraiser!

 Please return your PTO membership forms to your child’s homeroom teacher.

 Plan to attend the first meeting of the PTO on Tuesday, Sep 2 at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. This meeting is open to everyone.

Don’t forget to log your volunteer hours, either using the notebooks in the front office or by accumulating your hours by month and logging them online at http://www.lakewaypto.org/log.htm. (Please do not log the same hours in both places.)

Thank you for honoring the new cafeteria rules and for helping to manage our crowded space by not having lunch with your child. You are still welcome to visit your children on the playground.

 We would like to thank everyone who came to the Volunteer Training Meeting. Please send an e-mail message to Cynthia Casto (cynthia_casto@lakewaypto.org) if you didn’t get a chance to sign up for a special project. If anyone would like to start their own project, please contact me (jennifer_neuse@lakewaypto.org). We appreciate your patience as we go through our growing pains. It is going to be difficult to park at all LWE events so just anticipate no parking spaces and be pleasantly surprised if you find one.

 Enjoy the three-day weekend with your kids.

 A NOTE from your Volunteer Coordinator, Cynthia Casto:

 THANK YOU! for the awesome turnout at our Volunteer Training meeting. We had close to 200 people attend the meeting. Right now we have over 300 volunteers registered for our school. If you haven’t already done so, please pick up and sign a confidentiality agreement. These forms are available in the front office. If you’d like to volunteer, please use the Volunteer Opportunities page at http://www.lakewaypto.org/vol_opps.htm.

 Once we get all the volunteer forms loaded into the database (hopefully by the end of next week), a chairperson will be contacting you. Some events are not scheduled to start for awhile, so if you do not hear from your chairperson right away, don’t panic. You will be contacted closer to your event. You may always contact your chairperson by checking the Lakeway PTO Web site’s PTO Committees page (http://www.lakewaypto.org/cmte.htm). We’re still adding chairpersons to this page, so if you don’t see a chairperson listed, check back in a few days.
