Lakeway PTO News - March 24, 2005
Have a great weekend! Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 28 are school holidays.
The next PTO meeting is Tuesday, March 29 at 9:15am in the PTO workroom. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
If you have a child starting kindergarten in the fall at Lakeway Elementary, kindergarten registration is Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30pm in the Lakeway Elementary cafeteria. More information about the required forms is available from the PTO Web site at www.lakewaypto.org.
Due to poor response, we are STILL accepting nominations for PTO board members for next year. If you have considered becoming more involved, please nominate yourself! The LWE PTO works diligently to ensure that our students and staff have the support they deserve. Please go to www.lakewaypto.org to complete or print a Nomination Form. Consider the list of positions that need to be filled and decide which one may best interest you. This form can be submitted online or returned to the school office. We welcome your participation in making a difference for our school! Attention kindergarten parents: The dates for the Kindergarten Circus this year are May 13th and 14th. We need many parent volunteers to help make this annual kindergarten event special. Please fill out the Kindergarten Circus Volunteer Form that went home in Tuesday folders and let your room parents know if you can help. You can also download the volunteer sign-up form and the information sheet from the PTO Web site at www.lakewaypto.org. Please help if you can. Feel free to contact one of the room parents or Patty Hoenig (pattyhoenig@austin.rr.com) with any questions or concerns.
Chick-fil-A in Bee Cave is sponsoring a “spirit night” for Lakeway Elementary on Thursday, March 31 from 5 – 10 pm. The school earns 10% on all orders placed during this time—all you need to do is ask the cashier to drop your receipt in the red box marked “LWE” on the counter. If you’re eating out that night, please stop by Chick-fil-A for a great meal and help your school at the same time.
The LTHS Cavalier Band invites you to participate in the 2nd Annual Band on the Run 5K Fun Run fundraiser! Support the band program while being a part of the action on Sunday, April 24th at 8:00 am. You can participate by running or walking the event, volunteering your time, or sponsoring the event. This event will take place around the Lake Travis High School complex, starting and ending in front of the stadium. The hill country course is ideal for training or for a fun race. This is a non-timed event, however a race clock will be provided at the finish line. Prizes awarded to the top finishers in the men, women, and student categories. Registration fee is $17, ($20 after April 15th, online only), and includes a t-shirt. Registration is available online at www.laketravisband.com. Would your daughter like to be a “Cavalette for a night?” All girls in grades 2 through 8 are invited to join the Cavalettes on Friday, April 1 from 8pm to Saturday, April 2 at 8am at the high school main gym. The cost is $40 if you preregister or $45 at the door. There will be dancing, food, late night activities, and lots of fun, fun, fun! Need an LTISD 2004-2005 Student Directory? Copies are still available in the main office at the high school for $7.
